Unions

There are several recognised unions that protect Pavian workers’ rights.

Unions allow workers to come together in a powerful, collective voice. Studies show that union members have better pay, safety, conditions, job security and health.

Recognised unions

The Pavian Government recognises:

What businesses must do

A business must tell the relevant union when it hires a new employee. This enables the union to contact the worker and give them information about the benefits of joining the union.

You should contact the relevant union before you hire employees to find out what information it wants from you.

Union delegates are the first point of contact for all workers to bring grievances to the attention of management. They help workers understand their rights and entitlements. They resolve issues before they get worse.

You should not retaliate against or performance manage a union delegate for carrying out union duties during their work hours.
